The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is a relatively new breed but is recognised worldwide and is FCI registered. A product of an interesting series of experiments during the cold war from which the then eastern block tried and succeeded in creating an animal with the best of characteristics from both the wolf and the dog.

Hence we have a breed which is stronger, hardier and more intelligent than the majority of other breeds.

This is not a breed for everyone. Its almost identical features to the Carpathian Wolf induces nervousness in some people. This aside, firm and sensible handling from its owners make for a loyal and trustworthy companion. Experience in handling other large dogs can be helpful.

This is a breed which needs not only plenty of exercise, but also a healthy diet of high grade biscuits and raw meat, as well as quality interaction with its humans. This is not a breed which should be chained to a tree all day and fed scraps from the table. They are also happiest with a companion dog in the family and are gentle with all household pets.

If you are interested in more information on this wonderful breed, or the possibility of ownership then please feel free to contact us.
